Following the controversy over another banned single 'God, Country & My Baby' by Johhny Burnette, which referred to the then Cold War crisis, "The committee feel, in view of the recent memo regarding the spreading of despair and despondency, this record might well qualify. Quite apart from the fact that the lyric is unintelligible..."

Melody Maker reviewer Ray Coleman, 1963: "Nauseating trash... it's a sordid saga. Is this really music? No, it's undiluted tripe. We smashed the record after one play and we hope you never have the misfortune to hear such dire rubbish".
