2002: 'Swinging London', WDR (Germany)

Carlo has the main presenting role in this documentary about music in 1960's London. He tours old venues such as the Marquee, and is filmed in the Ealing Club with Art Wood. Also interviewed are Screaming Lord Sutch, Nick Simper, Mac Poole and The Pretty Things. This show is still repeated on TV regularly. More click here.

The programme follows up its feature on Carlo by seeing what he's doing now since he last appeared on the show earlier in the year. He brings his band the All Stars featuring Art Wood into the studio and they perform Hoochie Coochie Man.


Wednesday 2nd November 1999: 'This Morning', ITV (UK)

In a special in-series, 'Our Century' looks back on the history of the UK. Carlo discusses life as a teenager in the 1950s. Also available, an accompanying booklet

Carlo discusses why he turned down the Rolling Stones with the country's most famous chat show host


Monday 12th July 1999: 'Extra', NBC, 7pm (US)

Carlo discusses why he turned down the Rolling Stones and is filmed selling hot dogs outside Wembley Stadium


17th June 1999: 'London Today' & 'London Tonight', ITV (Carlton), 1pm & 6pm

Carlo is interviewed live via satellite about the loss of his friend Screaming Lord Sutch, who died today. He also appears in film outside the house.


12th June 1999: 'Weekend 24', BBC2 & News24

Carlo is interviewed about being a former Rolling Stone and the fact that the Stones are due to play Wembley Stadium over the following weekend.


11th June 1999: GMTV, ITV, 7:45am

Carlo is interviewed from his hot dog van outside Wembley Stadium, where the Stones are due to perform, live via satellite by presenter Eamonn Holmes. Photos of his previous meeting with the Stones and gig footage are shown.


10th June 1999: 'London Tonight', ITV, 6pm

Carlo is interviewed about being a former Rolling Stone and the fact that the Stones are due to play Wembley Stadium over the following weekend.

Carlo performs with a band in the Rising Sun pub, Greenford, Middlesex


15 March 1999: 'Esther', BBC2, 4:55pm (UK)

Talk show with the topic 'I Was Nearly There'. Also on the show Pete Best, Screaming Lord Sutch and Art Wood.


10 March 1999: 'UK Raw', Channel 5, 11:30pm (BBTV Productions, UK)

Carlo and his wife were taken to Paris, France by the TV production company in the hope that he could re-meet The Rolling Stones (who were playing the stadium that weekend) after 35 years. Carlo also plays with The Counterfeit Stones and is interviewed in the studio.


10 March 1999: 'The Big Breakfast', Channel 4, 7-9am (UK)

Carlo appeared in the BB garden with his burger van, while being interviewed by Johnny Vaughn about turning down the chance to stay with the Rolling Stones. He also got to play his drum kit live on the show.


26 September 1998: 'Swinging London', WDR, 2pm (Germany)

Carlo has a presenting role in this documentary about 60's London, featuring him visiting and giving the lowdown on the major pop landmarks of the city. Also includes a film of a special gig and interviews with various minor pop stars of the time.


VH-1 22 August 1998: Rolling Stones Day, Stones Special, VH-1, 4pm; 9pm; 12:30am (UK)

This special programme was made as a tribute to the cancelled Stones' Wembley Stadium concert, which had been due to take place on Aug 16 but was pulled for tax reasons. Set in The Post Office pub in Wembley itself on the night the concert would have occured, the show features The Counterfeit Stones and an interview with Carlo Little about his missed opportunity with The Rolling Stones.


1998: Breakfast News, BBC1 (UK)

Features an interview with Carlo's about his missed opportunity with The Rolling Stones, and footage of Carlo drumming at a recent Screaming Lord Sutch gig. Filmed in June. Has not as yet been broadcast.


9 June 1998: 'Littlejohn: Live and Unleashed', Sky One, 11pm (LWT Productions, UK))

This is a British chat show filmed in London, hosted by the outspoken Sun columnist Richard Littlejohn. Carlo Little is the last guest on the hour long programme and is interviewed about his missed opportunity with the Rolling Stones. The show ends with him performing Johnny B. Goode with the house band.


11 October 1979: Play For Today; Long Distance Information, BBC1, 9:25pm (UK)

This drama, written by and starring actor Neville Smith, is about the effect of Elvis Presley's death on Christian Harvey, a part-time singer and rock and roll radio DJ. Carlo has a speaking-part as drummer 'Arnold'. Directed by Stephen Frears. Link | Link2

Hoochie Coochie Men performance with Carlo on drums, backing the singer Long John Baldry. Regional news programme for North-West England. Footage was not archived.


1963: 'Hullabaloo', ITV (ABC TV Productions, UK)

Cyril Davies & His R&B All Stars performances, with Carlo on drums. Appearances on 5 individual programmes. Filmed on May 30th, July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th at Teddington Studios, Middx. Footage now owned by Canal + Image UK Ltd.


1963: 'Thank Your Lucky Stars', ITV (UK)

Cyril Davies & His R&B All Stars performance, with Carlo on drums. Filmed on June 16th in Birmingham by ABC TV, broadcast 22nd June.
